Company History

1953 — Acquired ready-mix concrete and block plant.

1963 — Formed Dixie Exposaic to produce precast concrete.

1969 — Changed name to Exposaic Industries, Inc.

1974 — Entered welded wire reinforcement business.

1981 — Entered industrial wire business.

1983 — Sold Dixie Concrete division.

1984 — Expanded welded wire reinforcement capacity with new facility.

1985 — Initial public offering listed on NASDAQ. Entered steel trading business with formation of Intersteel Corporation.

1986 — Acquired wire division of Georgetown Steel and Federal Nail Manufacturing Co.

1988 — Sold precast division and Exposaic name repositioning Company as a wire products manufacturer. Insteel Industries common stock listed on American Stock Exchange.

1989 — Acquired Forbes Steel & Wire Corp., a producer of welded wire fabric and agricultural fencing. Entered the 3-D Panel business with the start-up of Insteel Construction Systems, a joint venture.

1992 — Insteel Industries common stock begins trading on New York Stock Exchange. Expanded 3-D building panel business with the addition of a facility in Mexico.

1993 — Entered the PC strand business. Reorganized and consolidated – Rappahannock Wire Co., Expo Wire Co., Federal Nail Manufacturing Co., and Forbes Steel & Wire Corp. – into Insteel Wire Products Company, a wholly owned subsidiary.

1995 — Acquired remaining interest in Insteel Construction Systems and merged the division into Insteel Wire Products Company.

1996 — Entered the collated nail business.

1997 — Sold Insteel Construction Systems.

1998 — Sold the agricultural fencing business. Expanded the PC strand facility to full design capacity.

1999 — Acquired 25% interest in Structural Reinforcement Products. Acquired welded wire fabric manufacturing facility in Hickman, Kentucky.

2000 — Acquired Florida Wire and Cable, Inc., a producer of PC strand and galvanized strand.

2001 — Sold the galvanized strand business.

2002 — Exited the bulk and collated nail business. Sold the industrial wire business located in Andrews, South Carolina. Sold 25% interest in Structural Reinforcement Products. Insteel Industries common stock begins trading on OTC Bulletin Board.

2004 — Insteel Industries common stock begins trading on NASDAQ National Market.

2006 — Exited the industrial wire business to focus entirely on concrete reinforcing products.
